簡單廉價的非隔熱罐，通過冷空氣冷卻。 啤酒窖中的傳統冷卻方式。 優點是成本低，但也有很多缺點：冷卻能量需求高（可能會受到較大酒窖牆壁隔熱質量的影響），無法控製成熟度（不可能各個罐體設置不同的溫度），啤酒窖工作舒適度低（窖藏工人在非常寒冷和潮濕的環境中工作，不利於他們的健康和工作條件）。
需要注意的是，對於帶有單殼罐的啤酒廠地窖，需要創建一個冷卻箱、一個牆壁和天花板隔熱效果非常好的房間以及一個冰箱門。 冷卻的運營成本尤其是在夏季，熱帶地區可能全年都這樣，明顯高於帶有液體冷卻隔熱罐的大型酒窖。 這些增加的建設和運營成本通常超過購買更便宜的技術啤酒廠所節省的成本。

臥式服務罐
