Micro brewery BREWORX LITE ECO

… easy production of beer from malt extract or wort concentrate

Minibrewery BREWORX LITE ECO is a minibrewery from serie BREWORX LITE.
The brewery has a simplified wort brew machine with construction which allows beer production from malt concentrates ( malt extracts ) and also from wort concentrates. It does not allow beer production from traditional raw materials (malt, hops and water).

Characteristics of minibrewery BREWORX LITE ECO

This solution is particularly suitable for restaurant small breweries, where the wort brew machine is not placed directly in a room reserved for guests because it does not include any safe front side with a protection human against danger touch with hot parts.

The wort brew machine is designed especialy for effective brewing wort, it is without any unnecessary design elements. The premise is that the operator wants to produce beer in a less demanding and energy-saving way than is usual in traditional beer production which starts by milling malt.

In contrast to the classic arrangement of the wort brew machine the machine Lite ECO does not allow the production of beer from classic raw materials, but malt is replaced with malt extract, which is a concentrate. We obtain wort by mixing the concentrate in the water. This eliminates the most demanding phases of the hot beer production process – the mashing and the filtering of wort.

In the production process, after obtaining wort, continues with the adding hops and boiling of wort in the boiling tank and wirlpooling of the wort. This makes it possible to produce many types of beer from one type of concentrate by choosing a different hops types.

The machine solution allows a comfortable control of the brew process, where the brew operator has all the necessary measuring and control elements at hand and has full control over the production cycle.

What is malt concentrate? (Malt Extract)

Malt extractMalt concentrate – malt extract comes from the wort, which is actually pulverized and thoroughly boiled in drinking water. Thickening of wort has been eventually reached in technologically unique evaporators, where boiling and evaporating is reached at a temperature of 45°C, which is not damaging main component of wort extract- malt sugar or maltose- caramelisation.

Malt extracts are made without the use of chemical additives (extractions agent, artifiacial enzymes, preservatives, stabilisators, etc… ) they usually have honey consistency and expiration date 6-12 months. Easy to transport and storage because of airtight covers.

Advantages of wort minibrewery with one vessel brewhouse

  • Able to brew all kinds of beer from different wort concentrates
  • Possibility to obtain different kinds of taste, color and smell of beer by different way of hops boiling, even by using one kind of concentrate
  • Lower investment cost to the brewery- construction of brewhouse is easier therefore manufacture is cheaper
  • Less facilities in the brewery (no malt mill)
  • Produced beer has always same quality
  • Producing process of malt takes 5-6 hours, what is 4-5 hours less than in production of beer from traditional raw materials
  • Significant simplification of production:
  • Low requirements for technological skills of the staff
  • Low cost of operating brewery
  • No weighing and milling malt; no mashing and sieving malt
  • Low energy and water cost
  • No problems with malt management (an advantage for minibreweries in the city center)
  • Lower cost of transportation wort extract than traditional raw materials
  • Low requirements for hygiene and environment of storaging (not necessary dry aired storage; no problems with rodents)

Three variants of micro breweries BREWORX LITE ECO – different fermentation methods

We produce minibreweries BREWORX LITE ECO in three variants of the main fermentation and arrangement of the tank storage.

Closed fermentationMicrobreweries BREWORX LITE ECO CF

Fermentation and maturation in sealed cylindrical-conical tanks is an effective and modern way of producing beer, which is highly resistant to contamination of fermenting beverages with unwanted organisms. Precision control of the fermentation and maturation leads to permanent results of constant quality and sensory characteristics of the beer. This scheme of brewery is particularly suitable for the production of top-fermented beers, but it is possible to produce all types of bottom-fermented beer too.

Open fermentationMicrobreweries BREWORX LITE ECO OF

Fermentation and maturation in open fermentation vats is the traditional way of producing beer, especially for the typical bottom-fermented Czech type of beer . This allows collection of quilts during the fermentation. A fascinating look at many forms and colors of the yeast foam will be appreciated by guests on excursions to the brewery. This scheme of brewery is suitable only for the production of bottom-fermented beers. Production of top fermented beer in open fermentation vats is quite demanding and is therefore not recommended.

Open and closed fermentationMicrobreweries BREWORX LITE ECO OCF

The combined solution allows production of bottom and top-fermented beer. Minibrewerie contains of open fermentation tubs (optimal for the traditional method of bottom-fermented beers) and cylindro-conical tanks (particularly suitable for the production of top fermented beers). Beer maturation takes place in lager tanks, or it is possible to use instead of lager tanks other cylindro-conical tanks for maturation process. The solution particularly suitable for restaurant minibreweries where the brewer plans to manufacture both bottom and top fermented beers.
